Warren Estates Limited is one of the longest established Auctioneering firms in the country and the best known firm in the South East. It was founded by the late George Wellington Warren in 1871, on his return from America. His son George W. Warren the second, followed in the family business and he started one of the country’s first livestock marts in Gorey in 1951. His brother and partner in the firm Henry J. Warren had meanwhile extended the business to Enniscorthy and built up a wide clientele. George Samuel Warren joined the business in the late 1950’s and played an increasingly prominent role in the firm’s affairs, firstly as Mart Manager and Livestock Auctioneer and later as sales Negotiator and General Auctioneer. William Gerard Slattery, joined the firm in 1964 and took over the business in the early 1980’s and under his leadership the business developed and prospered. Gerry was involved in the Auctioneers professional body – the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute (I.A.V.I.), throughout his career and was their President in 1998. Ciara Slattery joined her Father in the business in 1995 and her brother Niall joined the firm following Gerry’s sudden death in 2001. Our close alliance with the IAVI continues and our Auctioneers are qualified professionals with a wealth of experience to offer. Ciara was recently honoured as a Fellow of the IAVI.
